This group is for people who want to learn Irish or improve their Irish using a combination of lessons I create, children's books and traditional textbooks. The lessons will be loosely based on the book and CD set, Colloquial Irish: The Complete Course for Beginners (NY: Routledge, 2008, ISBN-13 978-0-415-38130-7). However, I'll be customizing some of the themes in the book, to make it pertain to life in the U.S., especially the Delaware Valley, where most of us live. So we'll be emphasizing sen …

Bydd y grw-p "Dysgu Cymraeg" yn dysgu'r iaith gyda'i gilydd ar lein. We'll start at a very elementary level and work our way up to progressively more challenging material. Eventually, if the group gets fluent enough, we can tackle some of my favorite Welsh books, including Harri Potter a Maen yr Athronydd (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, aka Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone). First, however, we'll start with some more basic texts. I'll be writing some of the texts and posting them …

The Meetup Group will join with more experienced dancers who will provide teaching and guidance as required to enable everyone to get the most out of dancing. No experience is necessary, nor is it necessary to be from Scotland or wear a kilt. Similarly the …

A group for people to meet and discuss freemasonry informally. This is not a Masonic Lodge but it is for men and women interested in a positive investigation of Liberal and Esoteric Freemasonry. Masons and non-masons are welcome. If you have just joined, please visit the discussion forum and add an introduction to the Introductions thread.
Scottish Country Dancing is a modern version of eighteenth century European social dancing. If you've ever seen a Virginia Reel, you'll have the basic idea. There are many variations, of course. There are fast dances, jigs and reels, and strathspeys which are slower and more elegant. Anyone is welcome (we have members in their teens and member in their 90s). You don't need to bring a partner because we mix it up for each dance. It's great fun and great exercise. You'll meet people from many walk …

Perhaps, like me, you bought Harry Potter in Latin or in Welsh, but haven't actually read it yet. It might be more fun with fellow readers, so I'm organizing this group to see if others would like to join me. I'm reasonably fluent in Welsh (I also run the Dysgu Cymraeg meetup for teaching Welsh) and my Latin, is, well, rusty but enthusiastic. Depending on the geographic location of Potter readers, we may have some sessions online so all can participate. Also, while I plan to start with Cymr …
