Come help us celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Irish culture on Tuesday, March 17th (St Patrick's Day) starting after work and continuing until the last drunk has been scraped from the floor. To those of you who may wish to bring food, please do so. (Translation: Food will be provided as long as someone brings food to provide) The same goes for booze. Those of you who possess a musical instrument or a musical voice are encouraged to bring it along. For those of you who just got out of rehab, soft drinks will be provided and a bottle of vodka will be hidden in the cistern of the toilet in the downstairs bathroom. Children are welcome.

Greetings, This time we're going to meet at Aussie's. It's located right across the street from Fiddler's Hearth so we aren't traveling far! I (Lindsay) have a volleyball game at 8:45 that evening so instead of me leaving the meetup early, we decided to bring the meetup to me! Aussie's is a bar and grill that has sand volleyball courts in the back. It's a very casual, relaxed atmosphere and a lot of fun. So come join us for a pint and cheer me on at my first game of the season :) As always, bring your ideas for other activities and events to do, in addition to the 1st Friday meeting. We really want a wide variety of events so that every member finds something they're interested in attending. So far the following have been suggested: Celtic themed movie-night (think Rob Roy or Braveheart) Celtic authentic / traditional pot-luck dinner night Live Celtic / Irish / Scottish music Gaelic and Welsh language classes at Things Celtic Field Trip" to Things Celtic Discussion and research on Irish or Scottish ancestry and heraldry All these ideas are great possibilities for meetings, outings and social activities. Look forward to seeing everyone! Sláinte, Fin and Lindsay

Well those of you of Irish decent you know all about the Toast. For those of you who need a little practice before the big event this is your chance to get it right. The Great Guinness Toast has been going on for 16 years and grows every year. The Toast will be at 10pm here in Austin and it is the official "St. Practise day" for those of you that are not Irish. I myself (as we all know) am of Irish decent and I will be there to help cheer you on in true Irish fashion by throwing you the Guinness when you are empty. There will be at least one other meet-up group there so it should be lots of people and lots of fun!

Greetings, In our efforts to be more accessible and relevant, this will be the last meeting at Opal Divine's Marina. If you have concerns or suggestions, please attend and we will discuss them. The Message Board has been enabled to allow for a more inclusive and open discussion of topics you may wish to put forth. We will also be discussing other activities and events to do, in addition to the 1st Friday meeting. Greetings, The September Meeting had out best turnout this year! Thanx to everyone who made it! We are going to continue our regular Meeting every month on the second Tuesday at 7:30PM, but we are going to move October's Meeting to Sherlock's Pub. Votes from the September Meeting were all in favour of organising a trip out to TRF during October/November. We will also be looking at going to Middlefaire at teh end of September. Delicious food, good selection of drinks, and casual conversation...come join the fun! Look forward to seeing everyone! Cheers! ~Alex

Greetings, August show there's some new Celtic blood out there! Thanx to everyone who made it to the Meetup! We are going to continue our regular Meeting every month on the second Tuesday at 7:30PM at Opal's. I would like to open discussion on the location and suggest The Gingerman, The Draught House, Mother Egan's, Bagpipes, Sherlock's or Fado's as alternatives. This would be for the October Meetup. We will discuss this at the September Meeting. We will also be discussing other activities and events to do, in addition to the 2nd Tuesday meeting. So far the following have been suggested: Celtic themed movie-night (think Rob Roy or Braveheart) Celtic authentic / traditional pot-luck dinner night Live Celtic / Irish / Scottish music Gaelic and Welsh language classes at Things Celtic "Field Trip" to Things Celtic "Field Trip" to nearby Ren Fests (Scarborough, TRF, Red River, Middlefaire, Westfest) Discussion and research on Irish or Scottish ancestry and heraldry All these ideas are great possibilities for meetings and outings. We will be looking at possibly having another meeting in August and September for one or more of these ideas. Opal's Marina is a great little spot with a really nice patio for enjoying an early summer evening.. Great selection of drinks on tap, as well as an impressive Single Malt Scotch menu. Delicious food, good selection of drinks, and casual conversation...come join the fun! Look forward to seeing everyone! Cheers! ~Alex
